Staff
Ray Dotzler – President - Mr. Dotzler is the President and Chief Operating Officer of The Creative Center. He is also owner of Dotzler Creative Arts, an award-winning design studio. Mr. Dotzler has taught as an Adjunct Professor at Creighton University, College of Saint Mary, and the Fashion and Art Institute of Dallas at Omaha. 

Kim Guyer – Executive Director - Ms. Guyer has over ten years of experience in design, copywriting, project management, instruction, accreditation procedures, and college administration. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Beth Connor – Director of Admissions/Placement - Ms. Connor has over 20 years of experience in administration and has been with The Creative Center since its founding. Her experience includes placement and admissions assistance, project management, bookkeeping, and administration.

Sandy LaRocca – Director of Financial Aid - Ms. LaRocca has been involved in the educational field for over 15 years. Her expertise includes financial aid, student placement and career services, marketing and recruiting, as well as general administration and instruction.

Arlene Wright – Learning Resource System Coordinator/Instructor – Ms. Wright holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Secondary Education, and a Master of Science degree in Library Science. She has over 20 years of experience in public, special, and college libraries.

Mona Phillips – Admissions – Ms. Phillips has over six years of admissions experience in the education industry including admissions, agency relations, and admissions management.

Carmen Jensen – Admissions – Ms. Jensen had over 22 years of customer-service oriented experience, giving her the desire and skills to assist the customer in any given situation.   

Cliff Owen – Admissions – Mr. Owen has a Bachelor and Master degree in Education and has over 26 years in education including administration and teaching as well as over five years of sales experience.

Janeen Dvorak – Admissions – Ms. Dvorak has over 25 years of experience in the graphic design industry and has been an active volunteer in various areas within the Millard School District for the last 12 years.

 

                      Faculty
Susan Paley – Director of Education/Instructor - Mrs. Paley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Arts degree in Communication. She is an experienced college classroom instructor, who also has over 25 years of leadership experience in many areas of education, including administration, management, marketing, coaching and mentoring.

Paul Dotzler – Systems Analyst/Instructor - Over 20 years of professional experience has allowed Mr. Dotzler time to hone his computer skills in the graphic arts. He is also an expert in many Macintosh software programs, including networking and hardware repair.

Tim Grutsch – Instructor - Mr. Grutsch has over 20 years of experience as a creative designer, illustrator, and computer graphics expert. Mr. Grutsch, an award-winning designer, holds an Associate of Applied Sciences from the Fashion and Art Institute of Dallas at Omaha.

Alissa Apel – Instructor -Mrs. Apel has professional experience in both the commercial art and illustration fields. She holds Bachelor degrees in Illustration and Design, and an additional Master of Illustration degree.

Jan Dotzler – Instructor- Mrs. Dotzler is an award-winning illustrator and cartoonist with over 25 years of experience in the advertising field. Her work includes illustrations for children’s books.

 

 

                       Adjunct Faculty
Rick Brown – Adjunct Instructor – Mr. Brown is the owner of Rick Brown Illustration, Inc. and has almost 30 years in illustration. His work includes freelancing for Disney, The NFL and Universal Studios.

James Cattlett – Adjunct Instructor – Mr. Cattlett holds Bachelor degrees in Graphic Arts, Fine Arts and Education. He is the owner of Vision Graphics. His work has won countless awards and been featured in art exhibits across the United States.

Janelle DeBoer – Adjunct Instructor – A graduate of The Creative Center,
Ms. DeBoer holds an Associate of Occupational Studies degree in Design, Illustration and Computer Graphics, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a Master of Arts in Leadership.

Todd Eby – Adjunct Instructor - Mr. Eby has over 24 years of experience,
as a designer and art director of advertising, with experience in concepting, design, layout, and TV production, as well as art instruction. Mr. Eby is the President and Creative Director of Eby Creative Group.

Jeff Hahn – Adjunct Instructor – Mr. Hahn holds a Bachelor degree in Studio Art and is an experienced web designer. He is a partner in Paradigm Creative Media, a marketing company in Omaha, which provides both creative and IT services.

Andrew Hershey – Adjunct Instructor – Mr. Hershey has over 5 years of experience in the marketing and advertising fields, and is the Media Director for the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. Mr. Hershey has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art.

Michael Matulka – Adjunct Instructor – A graduate of The Creative Center, Mr. Matulka holds an Associate of Occupational Studies degree in Design, Illustration and Computer Graphics. He is the owner of Basik Studios, a design studio in Omaha.

Patty O’Bryan – Adjunct Instructor – Ms. O’Bryan holds Bachelor degrees in Education and Computer Graphics, as well as a Master of Technology Management degree. She is the associate publisher of Interiors magazine.

L. Patrick Wray – Adjunct Instructor – Mr. Wray holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and a MBA in Management with an emphasis in accounting. He has also earned a Nebraska CPA Certificate. Mr. Wray retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force and teaches at several colleges in the area.

 

                       Online Faculty
Julie Malmberg – Online Instructor – Ms. Malmberg holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Atmospheric Sciences. She has seven years of teaching experience as well as eight years of field experience with both the National Weather Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Kathleen Van Horn – Online Instructor – Dr. Van Horn has Bachelor and Master degrees in Psychology and an Educational Doctorate in Curriculum Development and Supervision. She has 30 years of experience related to education, including teaching, research & development, administration and consulting.

Lisa Kincaid – Online Instructor – Dr. Kincaid has Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees in Psychology. She has over 10 years of experience teaching online, as well as acting as the Managing Editor for multiple psychology journals with the eLearning Institute.
