The NCAA College World Series has taken place in Omaha for over 50 years and continues to be a major
event in the newly remodeled Rosenblatt stadium every June. The city and surrounding metro area also feature sporting events such as the Omaha Royals, a minor league baseball team; the Lancers, a semi-professional hockey team; and the Omaha Beef, a professional indoor football team.

Omaha is home to the world-renowned Henry Doorly Zoo which features several attractions such as: The Desert Dome – the world’s largest indoor desert exhibit; the Lied Jungle – the world’s largest enclosed rain forest, and Hubbard Gorilla Valley, a state-of-the-art gorilla complex including an S-shaped window to allow visitors “into” the complex. The zoo also runs a popular IMAX Theatre.

Just west of Omaha, visitors often frequent Mahoney State Park, which houses a variety of camping and hiking options, as well as an indoor activity center, golf, tennis, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, and the impressive Strategic Air and Space Museum.
